About

Arniko College
Grade 12, Science
Biratnagar, Nepal

I'm in Grade 12 at Arniko College in Biratnagar, studying Science. Mathematics is my favourite subject. I like questions that take a long time to solve, where you have to try a few ideas before one of them works.

Outside class I play chess and solve the Rubik's cube. I also made a small game for a hackathon, which is in section four.

Chess &
problem solving

Endgames are my
favourite part.

Chess and mathematics feel similar to me. In both you have to think one step further than you want to, and be honest about what is really there.

The Rubik's cube is the same idea in a smaller form. There are only a few moves you are allowed to make, and you cannot guess your way to the end. You can scramble the one below and try it yourself.

Depth Rush

A mining game that runs in the browser

  • My role Idea, design and testing
  • Built for A hackathon
  • Play it in A browser, nothing to install

Why I made it

I made this for a hackathon, so I had one weekend to finish it. I wanted a game anyone could open and start playing straight away, with nothing to install and no account to create.

What's in it

You dig downwards through a grid of blocks. The area around you changes as you go deeper, spirits chase you, and Soul Shards are the money you collect. There are five upgrades to buy and ten pickaxes to unlock.

What took the most tries

Getting the difficulty right. If you lose everything when you die, the game stops being fun. If you keep too much, it gets too easy. Most of my time went into deciding how much progress should carry over to the next run.
